I believe MODERN to remain timeless and it is the attention to details and quality of materials that remains a true test of time. MODERN RESIDENTIAL - NEW YORK

50 Gramercy Park North at Gramercy Park Hotel is a residential development that combines the services of as Ian says "effortless luxury living with all the benefits of residential ownership" a collaboration between IAN SCHRAGER and London based architect JOHN PAWSON. Having worked and studied the development industry in Vancouver ... it amazes me every time I visit New York to see a new project. The attention to detail of the architecture and interiors right through to the marketing campaign - it is inspiring to see a development thought through as an integral timeless contribution to the local community. Not cookie cutter or purely a product of profit focused logistics. They say New York is one of the most highly priced real estate in North America and yet even as the downtown Vancouver core is full of residential projects at $600 - $1,000 per sq. ft. there are only very few to mention that come close to the caliber of projects such as those of New York.

MODERN RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENTS - VANCOUVER

ECONGROUP and REVOLUTION DEVELOPMENTS are good examples of modern developers in Vancouver, I'm impressed by their progressive work and commitment to explore different innovative solutions for clients who appreciate a modern aesthetic despite the conservative market.

It is interesting to see how much the development industry has grown over the last 3 years. Standard interior finishes are at a much higher level of quality especially in the downtown high-rises. Development projects now commission International architects such as the JAMESON HOUSE to high-end boutique residences with full amenties like the Shangri-la. I was impressed by the 3 colour schemes of zebrano, magasscar ebony and aluminum offered at L'HERMITAGE to quality European appliances such as MIELE being a standard for most mid to high-end developments. As an interior designer, looking at floor plans on a daily basis and working with the challenges of homes where furniture isn't accomodated, it is projects such as 1180 Homer at METROLIVING or DWELL that stand out to look at the new urban client in a more sophisticated level.
